Who We Are

Gaertner Baron Professional Corporation is a corporate and commercial litigation boutique with over 50 years of combined legal experience. Located in downtown Toronto, we tailor our services to meet the unique needs of our clients who range from insurers and corporations to individuals. Our mandate is simple – to provide expert litigation representation.

Meeting our clients’ expectations and delivering practical business and legal advice is a given. However, we are committed to understanding your specific issues and creating solutions that go above and beyond your expectations. We anticipate needs and provide attention to detail, and we do it in an environment that is trusted and personal.  We take great pride in what we do and our clients turn to us because they know we’ll get the job done right.

Regardless of what representation is required, our approach remains the same – working closely with our clients, conducting risk assessments, weighing all options, and identifying the right strategy to ensure we achieve a successful outcome.  Understanding your dispute is at the heart of our tailored approach.  Once your needs have been identified, we mobilize and respond swiftly and creatively to reduce your risk, including using alternative dispute resolution techniques where appropriate.

We enjoy meeting with our clients, understanding all the intricate details of their business and legal needs, and coming up with practical legal strategies that make sense in the real business world. We believe our success is found in the fact that we take the time to meet with our clients, ensure we fully understand their business needs, and ensure our clients fully understand their legal issues.  We take great pride and satisfaction in turning problems into solutions.” – Arie Gaertner

Client Testimonials

“Having worked with Bruce for a number of years now he helped our company through a large restructuring that involved a number of difficult employee terminations. Bruce’s main strength was his ability to map out the process and provide a great strategy for managing ex-employees and their legal counsel in a professional and diplomatic manner, all the while controlling costs. He’s been a great help to our company.”

“Even for a seasoned business person, the nuances of the Canadian legal systems are extremely frustrating. You can throw out any concept of right and wrong when involved in a lawsuit. Although depth of knowledge of the law and how to maneuver through the legal system is extremely important what is equally important is the competency required to chart a winning course. In our case, a financial real estate development lawsuit, Bruce simply outmaneuvered all of our opponents. Furthermore his explanation of the tactical strategy was easy to understand and that’s important because it allowed me to trust him. The bottom line with Bruce and his team is that they’re always on your side.”
